FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Who can be helped by homeopathy?

Everyone! Young and old, pregnant women, and animals can all benefit from homeopathy. Many people turn to homeopathy when they haven't found a solution to their problems with conventional medicine.

Do you have to believe in homeopathy for it to work?

Absolutely not. Homeopathy isn't dependent on belief. Animals, babies, and unconscious people aren't aware of what they're taking and experience the same results as everyone else. Interestingly, some of the most famous homeopaths were originally medical doctors, and skeptics, who completely changed their minds after witnessing life-changing cures. All that's required is openness to engage in the process.

Does it take a long time to feel better?

Acute problems, like the flu typically respond very quickly because the symptoms are well defined and they haven't been entrenched in your system. The correct homeopathic remedy can alleviate pain or bring down a fever in as little as 10 minutes. Chronic problems take longer to resolve and require some commitment because they are more complex and have been present for a long time.

Can I keep taking my regular medication?

Yes. You should keep taking your medication until there comes a point where you are feeling so improved that you want to stop or taper off. Then we would proceed with the approval and involvement of your MD.

Do homeopathic medicines have side effects?

Homeopathic remedies don't have side effects, per se, but they must be prescribed by a well-trained practitioner who understands whatever changes take place. The remedies are safe and non-addictive. Standards of preparation have been established by the Homeopathic Pharmacopeia of the United States (HPUS) and conform to the regulatory requirements of the FDA.

Will my problems get worse before they get better?

There are a few situations in which there may be a temporary worsening of your complaints. If you stop pain killers or topical ointments that have kept symptoms suppressed, then there could be a temporary upsurge of those symptoms. However your body should quickly rebalance, after which the symptoms will subside. Sometimes right after taking a remedy you might feel a bit worse as your body responds to the stimulus. Any discomfort should be short-lived and is actually an indicator that you're on your way towards better health. Finally, in the course of treatment, you may briefly experience a return of some symptoms that you've had in the past. This is an excellent sign that your system is clearing out unresolved illness.

How many sessions do you recommend?

Everyone is unique and has different needs and goals. Some people are interested in working on a single health problem, while others want to explore a wider range of mental/emotional blocks. The speed of healing depends on many factors including the ability of your body to re-balance itself. The process is different for everyone and requires you to be an active participant in the journey. Regular follow-ups are absolutely necessary to maintain the momentum and assess your progress.

Will my problems recur after finishing treatment?

Once you are taking a well-matching remedy, your chronic problems may recur from time to time when there are exciting factors, mentally or physically. Typically you'll experience the symptoms in a milder form and as time goes on this will happen less and less because your system will be stronger and more adaptable, allowing you to handle stress with greater ease.

Is it alright to use different holistic treatments at the same time?

Generally this is not recommended as it will make it difficult to assess which treatment you're responding to. If your symptoms are changing in response to different modalities you're using it could affect my ability to prescribe the right remedy for you. However there are certain adjunct therapies that shouldn't interfere, such as chiropractic adjustment, Bach flower remedies, and gemmotherapy.
